Automation Anywhere, the enterprise automation company, said on Tuesday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Boost.ai, the Norwegian-founded conversational AI specialist, from private equity firm Nordic Capital. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, and financial terms were not disclosed.
It is the company's second AI acquisition in roughly a year, following its late-2025 purchase of Aisera, which added enterprise knowledge and automated employee service to the platform. Boost.ai extends the same logic to the customer side: the goal, according to CEO and chairman Mihir Shukla, is an "Autonomous Enterprise" in which business functions can run up to 80% autonomously or with AI assistance — and customer experience is the largest function the company had not yet covered end to end.
Boost.ai brings a profile that fits regulated industries, which is where Automation Anywhere's thousands of enterprise customers mostly live. The company serves hundreds of customer organizations with particular strength in Europe and in financial services, telecommunications and insurance; its platform supports more than 36 languages, maintains security and privacy controls aligned with GDPR and HIPAA, and is backed by an independent SOC 2 report. Its hybrid architecture combines natural language understanding with generative and agentic AI, and the company claims a resolution rate above 90% in production deployments — a vendor-published figure, not an independently audited one. Gartner has placed Boost.ai in the Magic Quadrant for Conversational AI Platforms for four consecutive years.
"Every enterprise runs on three kinds of work: serving customers, supporting employees, and running the business. Most run in isolation," Shukla said in the announcement. "With Automation Anywhere and Boost.ai, we intend to be the leading offering to give every enterprise an autonomous operation that listens, decides, and acts across all three." The companies describe the combined product as a "Conversation-to-Outcome Loop": a customer or employee states a need, AI reasons within company rules, and agents, people and systems carry the request through middle- and back-office execution rather than stopping at an answer.
Boost.ai CEO Jerry Haywood said joining Automation Anywhere lets "the conversation, including voice" connect "directly to the systems and people who get the work done, so a customer's request is handled from start to finish." For Boost.ai's investors, Nordic Capital is exiting after building the company into one of northern Europe's most prominent enterprise chatbot vendors.
The deal lands in a consolidating corner of the market. Enterprise conversational AI vendors are under pressure to prove agentic credentials as buyers shift budget from scripted chatbots to systems that can complete work, and automation platforms are racing to own the full request-to-resolution path before the large CRM and service clouds do. What to watch after the Q4 close: how quickly Boost.ai's voice stack is wired into Automation Anywhere's process layer, and whether regulated-industry customers — the most conservative buyers in enterprise software — treat the combination as a reason to expand rather than a reason to re-evaluate.
